Maasai Land Value Enhancement (MALVE 2)

The Maasai Land Value Enhancement (MALVE) Project is supported by GLS Future Foundation for Development and implemented in 3 group ranches of Kajiado County; Ilkiramatian, Olkeri and Torosei. The goal of the project is to enable Sustainable improvement of land use and food security, conservation of community land, as well as activation of the self-help potential of three Maasai group ranches in Kajiado County.

Coastal Fruits, Nuts and Livestock (CFNL)

This project is implemented in 3 sub-counties of Kilifi County in the coastal region of Kenya. The two sub-counties are; Malindi and Magarini. The project goal is to contribute to the increase of income by 200% for 900 youth through the establishment of youth-led enterprises, improvement of fish marketing and increased vegetation cover in the 3 Sub-Counties of Malindi, Kilifi South and Kilifi North in 3 years.

Rangers I Empowerment Project

Rangers’ empowerment project is being implementated and benefitting 3 group ranches of Kajiado County namely Olgulului, Shompole and Rombo. The project target to builds the capacities 45game rangers to effectively take charge in protection of wildlife within five conservancies. It also aims at equipping the game scouts to enable them carry out wildlife surveillance to reduce poaching and human-wildlife conflict The conservancies include Rombo, Kitenden, Ilaingarunyeni, Olenarika and Shompole.

Olempoor ECD Centre Project

The Olempoor ECD Centre Project is supported by GLS Future Foundation for Development and implementation in Olempoor Village, Ildamat ward in Kajiado central sub county in Kenya. The Project aims at providing a right learning facility for young children through construction and equipping the ECD centre to cater for 150 children of the ages 1-6 years old in 3 years.

Water Livestock and Market Gardening Seven (WLG 8)

The project is implemented in 5 Sub-Counties i.e., Laikipia East sub-county in Laikipia County, Mbeere North sub-county in Embu County, Murang’a East sub-county of Murang’a County, Loitoktok sub-county of Kajiado County and Kitui West sub-county of Kitui County. The goal of the project is to strengthen the resilience of the resource-limited smallholder farmers through sustainable land use practices for food, nutrition and income security in the 5 Project Areas in four (4) years.

Lamu Organic Cotton Project (LOCP)

The project is being implemented in five sub-counties of three counties. The sub-counties are Lamu East in Lamu County, Tana Delta in Tana River County and Malindi and Magarini sub-counties in Kilifi County. The project goal is to strengthen the resilience of 1716 resource limited small holder farmers and 684 youth through skills enhancement in Sustainable Ecological Agriculture practices, credit and market access for food, nutrition and income security in Lamu, Tana River and Kilifi Project Counties in four (4) years.

The project aims at providing the game rangers with skills and improved working environment. This is aimed at enhancing the rangers’ skills, provision of water and lighting in the camps, provision of better communication equipment tools for enhanced wildlife management skills among the community game scouts for improved conservancy management

Lusoi Hill Rehabilitation Project

The project is supported by GLS- Future Foundation for Development and implemented in Lusoi hill, Laikipia east. The project aims at reaching out to hundreds of youths both in and out of schools through a School and Youth-Environmental Conservation Action (SAY-ECA} Programme.

Aberdare Watershed Management programme is a 2-year project supported by PELUM Kenya and implemented in Aberdare conservation area in central Kenya region. The programme seeks to contribute to policies and legal environment in the four counties to enhance resilience of the ecosystem against climate change effects. The project aims to contribute to the development of environmental and related policy frameworks in the counties in order to achieve sustainable resource use within the Aberdare conservation area.

AWAMA Project

Aberdare Watershed Management programme is a 2-year project supported by PELUM Kenya and implemented in Aberdare conservation area in central Kenya region. The programme seeks to contribute to policies and legal environment in the four counties to enhance resilience of the ecosystem against climate change effects. The project aims to contribute to the development of environmental and related policy frameworks in the counties in order to achieve sustainable resource use within the Aberdare conservation area.

EOA-I Initiative Project

The project is supported by PELUM Kenya and aims is to mainstream ecological organic agriculture into national agricultural systems through strengthening the institutional capacity and coordination of EOA project partners in Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.

Organic Herbs Project

The specific project areas are; Murang’a East in Murang’a County, Laikipia East in Laikipia County and Loitoktok in Kajiado County. Project beneficiaries are Communities that have worked with SACDEP and have experience in Organic production. The project goal is to strengthen the resilience of small holder farmers through Organic Agriculture practices and technologies for food, nutrition and income security.

ECOSIA Tree Growing Project

The project is supported by Ecosia GmbH (Ecosia) and GLS Future Foundation for Development (‘GLS’) and implemented in the regions of Kiambu, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Kajiado, Laikipia and Embu Counties in Kenya. The project aims to improve biodiversity conservation, land degradation and climate change mitigation through establishment of indigenous trees plantation.

This will improve biodiversity conservation, land degradation and climate change mitigation through establishment of indigenous trees plantation on 470 hectares of degraded forestland, fruit orchards and woodlots on1678 smallholder farms for increased household food, nutrition and income security.

Mangoes from Above (MFAV)

The project mainly aims to enhance income security for 1000HHs and 500 Youth through skills enhancement in Savings and Credit, value addition and market linkages for organic produce in livestock, crops and agro-mineral value chains. The MFA V project is being implemented in four Counties i.e., Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga and Taita Taveta. The project goal is to contribute to the improvement of the economic situation of smallholder farmers and youth in the project areas.
